WHY WE EXIST
The idea for this organization was birth after the tragic death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020.
This incident sparked a global uprising, calling for justice and equality for all humans. The rallying cries of “Say Her/His Name”, “Black Lives Matter”, and “No Justice, No Peace” were heard worldwide. As a result the family of George’s father, George Perry Floyd, Sr. took action to create opportunities that would turn hurt into hope for the underserved in our society.
Note: This organization was formerly known as the George Floyd Memorial Center
“George's Life, having being taken so inhumanely by a rogue law enforcement officer, will not be in vain. We will continue to dialogue unapologetically for diversity, equity and inclusion to move the needle forward for "real change". We will be intentional, with transparency, and above all with integrity.”
